Forum of African State Inspectorates General and similar institutions - FIGE
The Forum of African State Inspectorates General and Similar Institutions (FIGE) is an African organisation created in February 2006 in Djibouti (Republic of Djibouti), following an international conference organised by the Inspectorate General of the State of Djibouti at the instigation of the Inspectorates General of five African countries: Senegal, Chad, Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Djibouti.
Considering the importance of the role of public sector oversight institutions, responsible for ensuring transparency, protecting public assets and combating corruption, in the modernisation and development of States, the five founding members adopted the Djibouti Declaration of 16 February 2006, which drew on lessons learned from developments in contemporary public management science and practice, while defining the principles and vision of the FIGE, whose motto is «synergy for good governance».
